Five Minutes to Spare (Week 72)

Hello everyone! I hope you've all had a great week! We've had a crazy pday because my companion leaves for Peru tomorrow 😬 So I don't think we've been home since 10am 😅 Moral of the story is...I don't have a ton of time to write this and I also probably will not be responding to any other emails today. But never fear, she is now prepared for Peru (except she has to finish packing)!

Highlights from this week include:
- going to Costco for our district lunch and spending half the time just walking around the store
- Finally getting in contact with our recent convert and meeting with him twice this week! He fed us both times lol He also showed us his party bus
- Finding the cutest family of three who are going to come to our ward activity tonight 😁
- Twinning with hermana Kennard for her last Sunday! (There is a picture somewhere, but we have to get it from a member)
- Singing in the ward choir for ward conference
- Seeing my Aunt and cousin who meet in the same building that we do every Sunday!

I love you all! I hope you have a great week 💛 I'll be praying for you

Happy Monday! (Week 71)

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great week and a wonderful Valentines day! While the week was slow and a little tedious at times, I definitly saw a lot of miracles ✨

A lot of lessons ended up falling through this week which was disapointing. But God guided us to where we needed to be and we met some really incredible people. I think the best example of this happened last night. We were out knocking doors and making some visits and we weren't really having a lot of success. We got in the car to go to the next visit we had planned, but we really felt like we needed to go talk to people at El Super (a grocery store). We got there and the parking lot was pretty empty, but there were a lot of people in the laundromat next door, so we decided to go there. The first person we talked to was a sweet lady named Luz who was so so kind. As we were talking to her Emanuel, one of our friends who just got baptized, walks in! It was so cool and it really showed us that God is guiding us to where we need to be.

Some other things that happened this week:
- We got permission to go to Chick-fil-a as a district for our district lunch
- We had interviews with President O! I found out that I'm staying in Fontana and my companion had her final interview because she's flying to Peru next week (she's a visa waiter)
- We got Valentines Day frozen yogurt with our roommates
- Our friend Chucky came to church for the first time!

And now for the spiritual thought  🥁🥁🥁
This week during my personal study I was reading a talk for Thomas S. Monson and I really liked this quote:
"Do not pray for tasks equal to your abilities, but pray for abilities equal to your tasks. Then the performance of your tasks will be no miracle, but you will be the miracle"
I love this because with God we can do so much more than we can by ourselves. He knows our true potential and He will help us become who He knows we can be if we let Him.

I love you all! Have a great week ☺️

And We're Back! (Week 70)

Hello everyone 👋 I hope you're all doing well and that you had a great week 😊 This week was pretty good! Here are some highlights:

- We had family home evening last Monday and played a fun game where everyone ties balloons around their ankle and you try to pop everyone else's balloon
- We played lighting after district counsel to pick where to go to lunch and we ended up going to Chili's
- We took our recent converts to the temple, except no recent converts showed up... that was pretty tragic, but it was still good because we got to go to the temple!
- Ramiro got the priesthood and paid tithing for the first time yesterday!! It was so sweet and he was so happy!
- Hermana Kennard and I performed a musical number in church yesterday and I gave an impromptu talk 😅 it went pretty well though!

So yesterday, our musical number was one of my favorite hymns, "This is the Christ" and it is such a powerful song. If you haven't heard it yet, you should go listen to it. It's based on 3 Nephi 11 when Christ appears to the people on the ancient Americas after His resurrection. While He's there, He takes the time for every single person to go up and see the wounds in His hands and in His side. I love that everyone got to go. Everyone got to have their own personal witness and testimony that He is the Christ. The Savior of the world. And He wants each one of us to have that testimony, that personal relationship with Him as well. You should all go listen to the song or read that chapter, because it is so powerful.

Love you all!

I'm Alive (Week 69)

Hello everyone! I hope you all are well 🫶 I don't really have any updates this week because I was out sick until Friday...

But the weekend was pretty awesome! We found a family out while we were knocking doors and they're really sweet and I'm really excited to teach them 🤗

But that's about it for this week. I hope you all have a great week 💗
