Last week of the transfer 🤯 (Week 24)

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well! I know a lot happened this week, but I'm not sure how much I remember... so we'll see what happens

Monday:
Pday! We went on a hike with some other missionaries and it was so much fun!! Then we had a lesson about the Restoration of the church with one of our friends and it went so well! One of our members came with us and basically told him his whole life story (which was crazy) but it was an awesome lesson!

Tuesday:
We made cupcakes for one of the recent converts in our branch and we were driving them over to institute (a church class for young adults) While we were driving, a light changed and I braked harder then I should've...the cupcakes were not in a closed container and ended up all over the car 🤦‍♀️ thankfully the frosting didn't get everywhere and it was actually so funny. But, needless to say, we could not give the cupcakes away

Wednesday:
A pretty normal day! Not a ton out of the ordinary happened. We had our last missionwide (a zoom meeting with the whole mission) of the transfer and all the sisters in the zone got together to watch it and it was so fun!!

Thursday:
We had a zonewide exchange!! So basically everyone in the zone switched companions for the day and it was so fun!! I went to the other Spanish area with hna. Swainston and it's crazy how many Latinos there are in Indio! Almost everyone there speaks spanish!!

Friday:
Not a lot happened today. We were supposed to have a lesson with our friend from monday, but he basically vanished from off the face of the earth. We have not been able to get in contact with him at all....but we're gonna keep trying because he's so cool! We also cold called someone who turned out to be really interested in the church 🥳 It was a miracle!!

Saturday:
Nothing really out of the ordinary today. We called all of our friends and reminded them about church

Sunday:
Our friend from Friday was at church!! He LOVED it and it was so cool to see how well he got along with everyone there! Then we went to a lunch with a lot of families from the branch and I tried cerviche (...not my favorite, but not bad)

So that was my week! Love you all

Another Week (Week 23)

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well! And Happy St. Patricks day 🍀 Here was my week:

Monday:
Pday! We went to the zone activity and then on a hike which was a lot of fun! Then we went to the hospital to visit the brother of one of our church members who has cancer. And we had a lesson with a guy who has a lot of questions and we couldn't really tell if he was a basher or if he was legitimately curious, so...oh well.  We also met a really cool lady who came to church yesterday!! It was awesome! She speaks English though so the Elders will be teaching her 😔

Tuesday:
We had a couple of lessons today and we hung out with one of the families in our ward. They have triplets 🤯 We played spoons with them and it was so fun!

Wednesday:
We had a cleaning check in the morning (we passed!) And then we tracted for a lot of the day. We ended the night by helping one of our members move!

Thursday:
We had zone council and exchanges! I was with one of the english sisters (Sister Guidry) in the Spanish area, so it was a busy day for me 😅 but it was fun and we talked to some cool people

Friday:
We started off the day by helping the family from Wednesday finishing moving (which took forever) but we got in done! Then we had interviews with our mission president (which also took forever because they never start on time 😂) but we got to see the other missionaries in the zone and I got to play the piano for a little bit!

Saturday:
Stake conference! We had our friend Yael come and he really enjoyed it!

Sunday:
Stake conference pt. 2! Dilana and Rigo came to church and LOVED it! It was awesome! The rest of the day was spent planning and visiting people

So that was my week! Write me and let me know how you're doing ☺️ Love you all!

Week 22

No letter this week. We had some great conversations with Kallie and the mission President's wife. Kallie had a really tough week. Steps are in place and hopefully next week will be better.

Patas de Pollo (Week 21)

Hey everyone!! I hope you're all doing amazing and that life is good! My week...was crazy, here are the highlights:

Zone conference on Wednesday!! It was so good and they talked a lot about how we need to focus on the good. About 98% of life is full of good, beautiful things and the other 2% is full of really hard things. But when we focus on the 2% it blocks out all of the 98%. And, surprise surprise, this is true. I realized I've been focusing a lot on myself recently and that just hasn't been very fun for me, it's actually made life a lot harder than it needs to be (oops) BUT I decided to not do that anymore and just focus on the good things and everything got so much better! So what it boils down to is: God is in charge and life is good 😊

Thursday, what a day! We had zone conference where we set an incredibly high monthly goal and I'm so excited to work hard and see miracles!! It's gonna be great! I also ate chicken feet. It was so weird, but they actually weren't that bad 🤷‍♀️ A member gave us dinner and he made soup with chicken feet in it and it was probably one of the weirdest things I've eaten...but he says he's going to feed us iguana or snake next time, so we'll see what happens.

Also on Thursday, we chased a dog. This is weird because usually the roles are reversed. But it was fun! We caught the dog eventually and returned it to it's owner. And then, on Saturday, we chased ANOTHER dog. So that was unexpected and thankfully both digs didn't get too far away!

On Friday we had exchanges and I went to the bike area with Sister Smith! Only, we decided that instead of biking we were going to take the bus and talk to the people on the bus. Great idea right? Theoretically, it was. First, we missed our stop because we were talking to this really cool guy! So then, we had to walk back into the area, which was fine, we got back to the area, we knocked on some doors, talked to cool people. And then...we missed the bus back...by a light 🤦‍♀️ So what do we do? We start walking because we have a lesson to get to (in about an hour and a half/two hours). And so we walk, and walk, and walk some more. We stop at a really nice, fancy bar/lounge place and they let us use their bathroom (a lot of people inside looked confused to see missionaries there 😂) and we walk some more. It gets to the point where our lesson starts in 10 minutes and we're still 30 minutes away by foot. So we stop, and we kneel down on the sidewalk and Sister Smith (who is just AMAZING) says a prayer and we pray for a miracle and keep walking. And then, a car passes us and honks, so we start chasing the car and waving our arms to try to get them to turn around. And they do! And it turns out that they're a service missionary in our mission and they gave us a ride to the park! We got there right as our lesson was supposed to start. A literal miracle!! God is good and prayer works!

So yeah, those are the highlights of my week!! I'd love to hear from all of you! And for my spiritual thought: God is good. God is real. And He is there for each and every one of us because He love each and every one of us.

Love you all 💕
