A Crazy Week! (Week 50)

Oh my... what a week. A lot happened this week, so here's the highlights:

πŸ• Our sweet friend Jesus brought pizza and coca cola to our lesson with him! He doesn't even like pizza, but he knew we did so he brought some AND ate some with us. It was really sweet! He's also going to be baptized in November!!

πŸ‘₯ We met lots of cool people this week and had some awesome lessons! There were a lot, so I won't write all the details and spare us both time, but it was really good!

πŸ’― Elder Takashi Wada of the 70 (one of the organizations that helps run the church (I don't really know how to explain it...)) came and did a mission tour! We had 3 straight days of conferences and it was really good! He talked a lot about the scriptures and really digging deep into them and about faith. He also held a devotional for our friends and Jesus came and he loved it!

THE BEST THING OF THE WEEK:

🌊🌊 Kristina and Irving got baptized🌊🌊 They are such a cute family and so sweet and it's been incredible to watch how they have grown and how they've been blessed by the gospel. The love they have for God and for each other is like no other that I've ever seen. When we met them, they were thinking about getting divorced - they were going through it. But now they have the light of Christ in their lives and are looking forward to getting sealed in the temple in a year! It's truly been a miracle that I got to be here and watch their journey, it has strengthened my testimony and brought me so much joy.

I just want to testify to you all that Jesus Christ lives. That He loves you. That when He was suffering in Gethsemane and on the cross, He thought of you. He saw your face. I truly feel my Savior's love in all the world around me and I hope you do too. Life is still hard. Challenges still come. And sometimes you just need to cry.
But God is there with you.
He knows what you need.
This week I saw God's love in a sunset. In the hug of a stranger. In a good song at the right moment.
It truly is the little things that make the biggest difference in life.

I love you all πŸ’• Have a great week!

Transfers (week 49)

Hello everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the lovely fall weather! It still feels very much like the middle of summer here, but it's starting to cool down πŸ˜Š

Here's the highlight from last week (since I didn't write an email):
We got to go to the temple! All the missionaries in our zone went and it was amazing. It was so peaceful and so nice to have that time to reset a little a feel closer to God!

This week we did service for a member helping her clean up her backyard and pick the fruit off the trees - best service project of my life! It was so fun and we got to keep some of the fruit to give to people too!

This week's been busy! We had transfers on Thursday and everything stayed the same for me! The only thing that change is we got a new roommate who happens to be my trainer! It's fun seeing her again and we get to talk about all the fun we had almost a year ago πŸ€― (Hna Dean)

I'm sure a lot of other things happened this week, but honestly I don't remember what right now (oops...) The next email will have more details from my ever exciting life, I promise πŸ€ We should have a pretty packed week so hopefully that promise won't be too hard to keep πŸ˜…

I love you all! Let me know how you're doing! Have a great week πŸ˜Š

Mission Miracles (Week 48)

(This was a crazy busy week for Kallie so there was no letter sent. She has started a google drive with Mission Miracles - so I thought I'd post one of those for this week!)

Mission Miracles:

Tiffany 9/11/2025 -
This miracle starts a couple weeks ago when we did a Book of Mormon painting activity with the young women. Everyone painted a Book of Mormon for the missionaries to give to their friends. I also painted a Book of Mormon and I decided that I liked it so much I was going to keep it and mark it to use in my teaching. I had marked 1 Nephi 11:17, but that was it.

Today Hermana Owens and I had a lesson with an inactive member named Tiffany because Hermana Kimball was sick. We’ve been trying to get Tiffany to come back to church for about 2 months, but something always comes up. Today, she finally opened up to us and told us about a lot of the challenges and problems she has and why it’s been so hard for her to keep appointments with us and come to church. She’s very confused and she’s struggling a lot, but she doesn’t like asking for help — she wants to be able to do it all on her own.

Hermana Owens had an amazing meditation exercise about helping us visualize the love that Christ has for us. The first part of the miracle is that Hermana Owens was there to share this exercise with her. We set up to have elders come by and give her a blessing and we were about to end the lesson. Earlier, I had pulled my painted Book of Mormon out of my bag with the intention of sharing the scripture I had marked and it was still on my lap.

I looked down and had the strongest impression that I needed to give her this Book of Mormon. I had painted it with the words “AndarΓ© con Cristo, con migo Γ‰l andara” on the back from one of my favorite primary songs. After I had given it to her, she looked up with tears in her eyes and said, “I had prayed earlier and told God that I don’t know how I feel about the Book of Mormon, and this is the answer to my prayer.” God is truly in the details.

Originally, I wasn’t even going to paint a Book of Mormon. I wasn’t going to keep the one I had painted. The only scripture I had managed to mark so far was one about the love of God. Hermana Owens was there with me on an emergency exchange. God cares for His children and He works through small and simple things.

Labor Day! (Week 47)

Happy September πŸ‚ August flew by! Last week was a great week and here are the two highlights:

Wilma and Diana:
Wilma and Diana are mother/daughter and we met them a week or two ago? The first time we went by they told us about how they have family members who are members of our church! They even already had a Book of Mormon πŸ“˜ We gave them another copy, and they love reading it! Yesterday we went by and taught them about the Plan of Salvation (the plan God has for us so we can return home to Him) and somehow the topic turned to baptism (crazy how that happens πŸ€”) Long story short, they want to be baptized!! They're going out of town for a while, but stay tuned for September 21st πŸŒŠπŸŒŠ
They're really cute though! It's kind of chaotic whenever we go over though because they both just want to talk!

Irving and Kristina:
Irving in the son of one of our friends who was recently baptized. One day we went over to meet with our friend and we invited Irving to join us and he said yes! He'd been going through a hard time and was looking for more of God in his life. We gave him a Book of Mormon with some verses marked which he read and loved! Kristina, his wife, has recently been going through some health problems which has put a lot of stress on their family. We explained priesthood blessings to Irving and his dad and the elders came over the next day to give them blessings. We offered to visit Kristina in the hospital so she could receive one too, but Irving said that she was weary of the missionaries and he didn't think she'd be comfortable with that. Well, fast forward to Kristina coming home from the hospital: Irving texted us and asked it we could come give her a blessing with the elders! She loved it and wants to learn more too ☺️ They came to church yesterday and loved it ⛪

Jesus:
We had 20 minutes left of the night last night and we decided to visit someone who had been taught before. So we knocked on his door πŸšͺ and Jesus answered! He wasn't who we were looking for, but it's who God needed us to find. He moved here 2 months ago and has been looking for a church to go to!

God is good and miracles are out there - just keep looking for them!

Love you all πŸ’•
Happy Labor day πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²
